Anchoring the final session of WordCamp Victoria was Raul Pacheco (Hummingbird604) with a session on integrating other Social Network Systems (SNS) with your WordPress Blog. While Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook are great tools in themselves a blog really provides more ownership of the content you are putting out there.
In addition to the tools Raul mentioned, I’ve also liked the idea of moving some of the media off free services to my blog. Tweetpress is a great tool for attaching photos intended for Twitter to your wordpress blog. I use this on my iPhone as it integrates with Twittleator Pro. This avoids putting images on some other random service (commonly twitpic) and draws people back to your site not someone elses.
Props to Humbolt House Bed and Breakfast for donating accommodation to WordCamp Victoria to allow Raul to attend.
